    The Team at Shannon Leisure Centre are really looking forward to welcoming you back. We are conscious you may have concerns and questions due to COVID-19. In an effort to answer some of these question and put your mind at ease we have outlined the protocols you need to follow when visiting our Centre.

    Please take the time to read in full and familiarise yourself with all steps involved for visiting our gym & pool below

  • Visiting the Gym

    Visiting the gym

    We know that you’ve missed the gym and we can’t wait to welcome you back.

    Important information regarding your visit to the Gym

    * The maximum number of visitors per session will be 27. Of this 27, only a maximum of 10 people are allowed in the Strength & Conditioning Gym at any one time.

    * The gym lockers, changing and showering facilities are open. We would kindly ask anyone who are using these facilities to wipe down their changing area and locker after use, Anti-viral is provided. All gear bags must be placed in the corresponding locker whilst you are using the gym.

    * You are required to complete a Self-Declaration Questionnaire regarding COVID-19 prior to your first attendance. Failure to do so will prohibit your entry and use of the Gym facilities. (Click here to complete your Self-Declaration Questionnaire)

    * To use any facility at Shannon Leisure Centre you are required to set up your online profile in advance. This will form part of our contact tracing. You can set up your account here.

    * You may be required to queue briefly outside, social distancing markers will be in place. Customer Sanitisation Stations will be in place at the entrance and throughout the gym, enabling you to regularly sanitise your hands.

    * Contactless methods of payments are encouraged.

    * A one-way system will operate for entering and exiting the gym. Please avoid going between the two gyms where possible.

    * We ask that you bring your own water bottle as the water fountain will be out of use.

    * Please bring a large towel (beach) with you which you will use to cover the machines when using them. This is compulsory and you will not be permitted to use the gym if you do not have one with you.

    * You can if you wish, bring your own facemask or gloves although it is not required.

    *If you require spotting both you and your spotter are required to wear a mask. (you must bring your own)

    *No supersetting or going between machines

    *Stretching mats will not be provided. You may bring your own, but please ensure it is sanitised prior.

    *As equipment will be in high demand we kindly ask you not to delay too long on any one piece of equipment

    * Anti-bacterial sprays and tissue paper or cloths will also be located around both gyms and it is required that you clean down equipment before or after use. Please do not use personal towels to clean equipment.

    * Our gym layouts and access to equipment has been redesigned to meet all social distancing guidelines, which has resulted in some gym equipment being temporarily out of use.

    * Give each other space and follow social distancing recommendations when moving around the Gym or using the equipment. Avoid personal contact with staff and others.

    * We ask that you comply with the one-way system and exit through the back stairwell outside the Strength and Conditioning door which leads to the back car park.

    * Please remain at home if feeling unwell

    * We will clean and sanitise the gym between time slots with a full deep cleaning once per day on all equipment and touch points.

  • Visiting the Pool

     

    Visiting the Pool

    We know that you’ve missed the swimming pool and we can’t wait to welcome you back. A small number of temporary restrictions will apply during our initial opening phase. These include the temporary reduction number and the temporary suspension of all water-based fitness classes and swimming lessons. We will unwind these restrictions over the coming weeks and expect to return to more normal operations within a very short period of time.

    Important information regarding your visit to the Swimming Pool

    * The maximum number of visitors per public swim session will be 28.

    * There is no requirement to pre book your swim Please see our pool timetable for swim times.

    * We encourage you to arrive ready to swim and pre showered to limit your time in the changing facilities.

    * To use any facility at Shannon Leisure Centre you are required to set up your online profile in advance. This will form part of our contact tracing. You can set up your account here.

    * You are required to complete a Self-Declaration Questionnaire regarding COVID-19 prior to attendance. Failure to do so will prohibit your entry and use of the Pool facilities. (Click here to complete your Self-Declaration Questionnaire)

    * If the pool has reached its maximum capacity you may be required to queue outside, social distancing markers will be in place. Customer Sanitisation Stations will be in place at the entrance and throughout the changing facilities, enabling you to regularly sanitise your hands.

    * Contactless methods of payments are encouraged. (note: you will need your own padlock for your locker. A combination lock is advised and are on sale at the Centre)

    * A one-way system will operate for entering and exiting the building..

    * To avoid congestion, strong swimmers may enter and exit using the ladder at the deep end.

    * Please obey Lifeguard instructions at all times.

    * Directional markers will be in operation for all lane swimming sessions. We would kindly ask you to choose a lane according to your ability. Capacity of lane swimming sessions is 25.

    * Give each other space and follow social distancing recommendations when moving around the changing room and accessing lockers. Avoid personal contact with staff and others.

    * In order to accommodate the next group, we respectfully ask that you adhere to your 45 minute time slot and vacate the swimming pool immediately after your session.

    * Showers are in operation at this time.

    * Please remain at home if feeling unwell

    * We will clean and sanitise the changing facilities at regular intervals throughout the day with a full deep cleaning overnight.

    * Please be advised that the pool water is 100% COVID-19 safe. and we are following PWTAG guidelines (pool water treatment advisory group) by raising our free chlorine levels to 1.5mg/l. Click Here for further info.

  • Book a Fitness Class

    Attending a Fitness Class

    We know that you’ve missed our Fitness Classes and we can’t wait to welcome you back. A small number of temporary restrictions will apply during our initial opening phase. These include the temporary introduction of a pre booking system, temporary reduced class timetable, reduced occupancy levels in our class.  Changing and showering facilities are available. We will unwind these restrictions over the coming weeks and expect to return to more normal operations within a very short period of time.

    Important information regarding attending your Fitness Class

    * Shannon Leisure Centre will operate a temporary booking system during our initial opening phase to help us control the number of people in our classes at any one time.

    * Pre-book your Fitness Class by calling reception on 061 361841 now.  You will not be able to enter Shannon Leisure Centre without a pre-booked session. Walk-ups cannot be accommodated at this time.

    * Contactless methods of payments are encouraged and payment over the phone is available.

    * The changing and showering facilities are available with reduced capacity. We would kindly ask anyone who are using these facilities to wipe down their changing area and locker after use, Anti-viral is provided. All gear bags must be placed in the corresponding locker whilst you are attending your class.

    * Entrance to your fitness class is via the emergency exit door at the back of the Climbing Wall hall or via the emergency exits at the rear of the basketball hall. Park your car in the main car park and walk around the back of the building to find these doors.

    * You may be required to queue outside, social distancing requirements are in place. Customer Sanitisation Stations will be in place at the entrance to the hall, enabling you to sanitise your hands at the start and finish of your class

    * A one-way system will operate for entering and exiting the hall to use the toilets

    * We ask that you bring your own water bottle. Vending machines are in use and we encourage you to bring correct change.

    * Stretching mats will not be provided. You may bring your own, but please ensure it is sanitised prior.

    * You will be required to sanititise your mat at the start and finish of the class

    * Please bring a large towel (beach) with you which you will use to cover your mat when using it. This is compulsory and you will not be permitted to attend your class if you do not have one with you.

    * You can if you wish, bring your own face mask or gloves although it is not required.

    * Give each other space and follow social distancing recommendations when moving around the hall or using the equipment. Avoid personal contact with staff and others.

    * In order to accommodate the next group of Members, we respectfully ask that you adhere to your time slot and vacate the Hall immediately after your class.

    * Please remain at home if feeling unwell

    * We will clean and sanitise the hall between time slots with a full deep cleaning once per day on all equipment and touch points.

  • Attend an Indoor Climbing Wall Session

    Attending a Climbing Wall Session

    We know that you’ve missed our Indoor Climbing Wall and we can’t wait to welcome you back. A small number of temporary restrictions will apply during our initial opening phase. These include temporary reduced climbing wall timetable and reduced occupancy levels. We will unwind these restrictions over the coming weeks and expect to return to more normal operations within a very short period of time.

    Important information regarding attending your Climbing Session

    * Climbing can only be done in pairs (1 climbing, 1 belaying)

    * The maximum number of users on the wall per session will be 6 (inline with current government recommendations) When these restrictions are lifted we expect this number to increase to 10 users.

    * The changing and showering facilities are available with reduced capacity. We would kindly ask anyone who are using these facilities to wipe down their changing area and locker after use, Anti-viral is provided. All gear bags must be placed in the corresponding locker whilst you are attending your session.

    * Please bring your own climbing equipment with you. A limited number if climbing equipment will be available to hire.

    * You can if you wish, bring your own face mask or gloves although it is not required.

    * Give each other space and follow social distancing recommendations when moving around the hall or using the equipment. Avoid personal contact with staff and others.

    * In order to accommodate the next group of users, we respectfully ask that you adhere to your time slot and vacate the hall immediately after your session.
