• Full Time Leisure Attendant

  Full-Time Leisure Attendant

  Shannon Swimming & Leisure Centre is currently recruiting a Full-Time Leisure Attendant to join our professional and customer-focused team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to a qualified individual with experience across fitness instruction, lifeguarding, and swim teaching, who is committed to delivering a high standard of safety and service within a busy leisure environment.

  Essential Requirements

  The successful candidate must:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the leisure industry
  • Hold a Fitness qualification to QQI Level 6 or higher (e.g. NCEF, NCEHS, ITEC, ACE or equivalent)
  • Hold a valid Pool Lifeguard qualification (IWS or RLSS Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Hold a Swim Ireland Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification
  • Be capable of delivering a wide range of high-quality group fitness classes, including Functional Training, Circuits, and Strength & Conditioning
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be motivated, organised, and committed to maintaining high standards
  • Have flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
  • Have experience or interest in social media marketing and promotion

   

  Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout the facility
  • Ensure all health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Deal with member queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Lifeguard the swimming pool to the highest standard
  • Deliver adult and children’s swimming lessons
  • Deliver private swimming lessons tailored to individual member needs
  • Support and coordinate swim programmes and activities as required
  • Conduct gym inductions and fitness consultations, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment
  • Deliver engaging and professional group exercise classes
  • Maintain a strong presence on the gym floor, providing guidance, technique advice, and support
  • Deliver personal training sessions as required as part of the role
  • Assist with marketing and social media content to promote programmes and services
  • Support and work on children’s camps during designated camp periods

   

  Contract Details

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Rate of Pay: €17.51 – €18.93 per hour. Pay is based on qualifications and role requirements.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills
  • Be enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to delivering lessons to a high standard
  • Have flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as required. 
  • Be organised and able to work effectively with both children and adults

   

  Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, structured, and engaging swimming lessons to children and adults
  • Deliver private swimming lessons tailored to individual member needs
  • Maintain a high standard of pool safety and hygiene
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support and coordinate swim programmes and initiatives within the centre
  • Promote a positive and welcoming environment for all members and their families
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding lesson progress and recommendations

   

  Contract Details

  • Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent
  • Hours: Minimum 12-15 hours per week, depending on certification
  • Rate of Pay: €13.91 – €16.71 per hour, dependent on qualification

  Essential Requirements

  The successful candidate must:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the leisure industry
  • Hold a recognised Fitness qualification (NCEF, NCEHS, ITEC, ACE or equivalent)
  • Be capable of delivering a wide range of high-quality group fitness classes, including Functional Training, Circuits, and Strength & Conditioning
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be motivated, organised, and committed to maintaining high standards
  • Have the ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends as required. 

   

  Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high standard of customer service across the gym floor and group exercise classes
  • Deliver personal training sessions as required as part of the role
  • Carry out comprehensive gym inductions, ensuring members can use equipment safely and effectively to achieve their fitness goals
  • Maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and safety of the gym and surrounding facilities
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times

  • Deliver engaging and professional group exercise classes with a focus on customer retention

  Desirable Requirements

  • Child Protection certification
