  • Full Time Leisure Attendant

    Job description

    Shannon Swimming & Leisure Centre is looking for an experienced Leisure Attendant to work in the gym and pool and with the ability to deliver a wide range of fitness classes and swimming lessons to the highest standard!

    Shannon Swimming & Leisure Centre facilities include:

    It is essential that the successful candidate:

    • Has a minimum of 2 year experience in working in the leisure industry.
    • An NCEF, NCEHS, ITEC, ACE or similar qualification to QQI L6 standard or higher in Fitness
    • IWS or RLSS level 2 Pool lifeguard qualification of equivalent
    • Swim Ireland level 2 swim teachers qualification.
    • Has an ability to teach a wide range of group classes to an exceptional standard including Functional Training, Circuits, Strength & Conditioning, etc.
    • Is a motivated and committed individual with excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Social Media marketing and promotion experience.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • The successful candidate will ensure the cleanliness and presentation of the facility is always of the highest standard.
    • The successful candidate will ensure that member’s queries and concerns are always dealt with in a professional manner.
    • The successful candidate will ensure that Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the facility.
    • The successful candidate will be required to teach adult and child swimming lessons
    • Lifeguarding the pool to the highest standard is required.
    • The successful candidate will carry out comprehensive gym induction programmes ensuring customers are fully aware of how to use the equipment safely and the best way for them to reach their fitness goals without injury.
    • New staff are required to deliver quality customer gym and group exercise class experience with the aim of customer retention
    • The candidate will create marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules.
    • All staff must have a presence on the gym floor that enhances the customer’s experience as they arrive and train, offering advice, technique tips and ensuring customers get the best experience possible
    • All new staff will be required to deliver personal training sessions for customers
    • All leisure staff are required to work on kids camps during camp seasons.
    • Ability to earn additional income through fitness classes and swimming lessons

  • Part Time Receptionist

    14.5 – 16.5 hours per week working Saturdays & Sundays. Also a requirement to cover holiday and sick leave midweek when required. 

    Job Summary

    The position requires a motivated, personable and well organised individual to perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities to support the Centre General Manager in the efficient operation of our company. The potential candidate will also handle customer queries, membership sales, activities bookings and all other customer service related issues to the highest quality standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Greet all guests with a smile and make them feel welcome
    • Answer phone and route calls to the appropriate person
    • Register and clear guests and vendor deliveries
    • Manage schedule for Centre activities
    • Handle large amounts of cash
    • Operate booking management system
    • Ensure reception area is neat and tidy
    • Activity bookings

    Key Requirements & Qualification

    • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Warm, personable and friendly demeanor
    • Superb verbal communication skills
    • Good written and spoken English
    • Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail
    • Prior experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred
    • Prior administrative experience required
    • Prior experience with booking management systems helpful
    • Timetabling experience desirable
    • Flexibility to cover weekday hours if required.
