    Zumba® — the newest, hottest, Latin dance-inspired workout changing the face of fitness across the world — has finally arrived in Shannon Leisure Centre.

    Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program. The routines feature interval training sessions where rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavour and international zest into the mix and you’ve got Zumba®!

    Maria Hoffman is a  certified Zumba® instructor, and excited to be introducing Zumba® to Shannon leisure centre.

    Zumba® has millions of people in over 40 countries across the globe motivated to lose kilos and centimetres and feel incredible,. “A Zumba® workout is all about fun – you don’t need to love exercise or know how to Zumba®. Zumba® takes the ‘work’ out of a ‘workout,’ combining dynamic and accessible exercise moves with interval cardio-training.

    The difference with Zumba® is the music – it’s the special motivational ingredient. With specific beats and tempo changes, all you need to do is move naturally to the beat. The workout starts with one simple step and then moves up the body until everything is in motion.

    Zumba creates a great energy and vibe that isn’t experienced through conventional exercise. People of all ages and skill levels can join in the class and have a ton of fun!

    People who enjoy Zumba® know that fitness doesn’t have to be about repetition and pain. With Zumba®, it feels like a party – the results are almost secondary. The best thing about Zumba® is the way it’s so addictive!

    High intensity cardio workout

    As the origional and best indoor cycling programme, spinning simulates the outdoor cycle over all terrain from rolling hills to flat roads, all to the beat of the music. Everybody agrees that it is the best way to get fit FAST, with an intense workout that conveniently lasts only 50mins, including warm up and cool down.

    Spinning was created in California by Madd Dogg Athletics and is the original and most popular indoor cycling class in the world. AeroSpinning is Shannon’s first spinning class and has been teaching since 2009. All AeroSpinning instructors are fully Madd Dogg certified. We cater for all fitness levels; from completed beginners to competitive triathletes, in our custom studio with 25 spin bikes, and music that begs your legs to pedal.

    Spinning is a low impact workout on a stationary bike which guarantees weight loss, toning and fun while getting fit to the sound of good music.!!!!

  • Remi’s Outdoor Bootcamp

    Remis Bootcamp Shannon Leisure CentreMonday, Wednesday & Friday 11:30-12:15pm from the 10th May 2021

    Great way to burn calories, get fit and feel good. Excellent atmosphere, great fun, teamwork. Many different exercises to suit individual abilities. If you want to push yourself further than you would in the gym, join our Bootcamp Team and see what results you can achieve.

    These classes will run for a 4 week block until the Centre reopens on the 8th June 2021

    €5 per person.

    Time: 9:30 – 10:15am & 10:30 – 11:15am

    Duration: 45 mins

    Instructor: Piotr Grzegorek (qualified gym and fitness instructor, PE master degree)

    Intensity: low
    1. Mobility
    Stretching, relaxing and correcting exercises with music mostly in lying and sitting position.
    Main goals: general mobility and flexibility improvement, back pain reduction, muscle relaxation and core strength development

    Post operation/surgery recovery

      A little bit about me:
      I have been working in sports and education sector since 1997, mostly as pool lifeguard in outdoor and indoor swimming pools. For 5 years (2001-2006) I was working as a P.E. teacher and sports instructor. In 2006 I have moved to Ireland and started working for Shannon Leisure Centre as leisure attendant.

      My interests are history, underwater archaeology, travels, books, sports and sports nutrition.

  • Junior Gym

    Junior Gym is for kids aged 13 – 15yrs interested in working out. There is a fully qualified instructor present at all times to assist and advise.
