    Full-Time Leisure Attendant

    Shannon Swimming & Leisure Centre is currently recruiting a Full-Time Leisure Attendant to join our professional and customer-focused team.     Essential Requirements

    The successful candidate must:

    • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the leisure industry
    • Hold a Fitness qualification to QQI Level 6 or higher (e.g. NCEF, NCEHS, ITEC, ACE or equivalent)
    • Hold a valid Pool Lifeguard qualification (IWS or RLSS Level 2 or equivalent)
    • Hold a Swim Ireland Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification
    • Be capable of delivering a wide range of high-quality group fitness classes, including Functional Training, Circuits, and Strength & Conditioning
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Be motivated, organised, and committed to maintaining high standards
    • Have flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
    • Have experience or interest in social media marketing and promotion

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout the facility
    • Ensure all health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times
    • Deal with member queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
    • Lifeguard the swimming pool to the highest standard
    • Deliver adult and children’s swimming lessons
    • Deliver private swimming lessons tailored to individual member needs
    • Support and coordinate swim programmes and activities as required
    • Conduct gym inductions and fitness consultations, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment
    • Deliver engaging and professional group exercise classes
    • Maintain a strong presence on the gym floor, providing guidance, technique advice, and support
    • Deliver personal training sessions as required as part of the role
    • Assist with marketing and social media content to promote programmes and services
    • Support and work on children’s camps during designated camp periods

     

    Contract Details

    • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    • Rate of Pay: €17.51 – €18.93 per hour. Pay is based on qualifications and role requirements.

    Duty Manager – Dry Side (Gym, Fitness Classes, Astro Turf & Sports Halls)

    Shannon Swimming & Leisure Centre is seeking a proactive and organised Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of our gym, fitness classes, astro turf, and sports halls. This role is ideal for a strong leader with a passion for fitness and sports facility management, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage daily operations across gym, fitness classes, astro turf, and sports halls, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficient resource use
    • Possess detailed technical knowledge of all aspects of the dry side environment
    • Supervise and support staff, ensuring high service standards and a positive working environment
    • Coordinate staff rotas, cover peak hours, and organise regular training sessions, ensuring staff qualifications and certifications are current
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and address issues promptly
    • Assist with general cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of gym equipment and sports facilities
    • Promote health and fitness through marketing campaigns, special offers, surveys, and membership incentives
    • Work towards financial targets and collaborate with the Centre Manager on action plans
