      I have been working in sports and education sector since 1997, mostly as pool lifeguard in outdoor and indoor swimming pools. For 5 years (2001-2006) I was working as a P.E. teacher and sports instructor. In 2006 I have moved to Ireland and started working for Shannon Leisure Centre as leisure attendant.

      My interests are history, underwater archaeology, travels, books, sports and sports nutrition.

  • Morning Flexibility

    Improve your overall flexibility & wellbeing

    Flexibility & GymTime: 9:30am Wednesday

    Duration: 1 hour

    Intensity: low

    Flexibility & Gym classes have been ongoing since 2010 and is aimed at people with limited mobility, back and hip problems. Mostly for middle-age and older customers who are unable to attend high intensity fitness classes.

    Flexibility & Gym classes contain two parts:
    1. Flexibility
    Stretching, relaxing and correcting exercises with music mostly in lying and sitting position.
    Main goals: general mobility and flexibility improvement, back pain reduction, muscle relaxation and core strength development
    2. Gym
    Gym introduction – cardiovascular and resistance exercises adjusted to present fitness level and health condition.
    The class participators have access to all gym equipment: treadmills, crosstrainers, bikes, rowers, arm ergometers, steppers & resistance machines to strengthen shoulder, arm, chest, core and leg muscles.

    Post operation/surgery recovery

    What is Spinning?

    As the origional and best indoor cycling programme, spinning simulates the outdoor cycle over all terrain from rolling hills to flat roads, all to the beat of the music. Everybody agrees that it is the best way to get fit FAST, with an intense workout that conveniently lasts only 50mins, including warm up and cool down.

    Spinning was created in California by Madd Dogg Athletics and is the origional and most popular indoor cycling class in the world. AeroSpinning is Shannon’s first spinning class and has been teaching since 2009. All AeroSpinning instructors are fully Madd Dogg certified. We cater for all fitness levels; from completed beginners to competitive triathletes, in our custom studio with 25 spin bikes, and music that begs your legs to pedal.

    Spinning is a low impact workout on a stationary bike which guarantees weight loss, toning and fun while getting fit to the sound of good music.!!!!

    Swimming LessonsKids Different Strokes

    Classes are every Saturday @ 9am or Tuesday or Wednesday @ 5:00 pm and cost €44 for 8 sessions. Each set last 8 weeks. Different strokes consist of lane swimming with an element of stroke correction. It is ideal for anyone who needs a little endurance work before they make the step up to a club.  Contact reception for further details.

    My name is Samantha and I am an internationally qualified Pilates Instructor. I first came across Pilates as a teenager and I instantly fell in love! Since then, I’ve lived and travelled through New Zealand, South East Asia and Sweden, taking Pilates with me all over the world!

    Some info on Tabata Hiit incase any of your members are curious as to what its about, I will be incorporating this into the classes

    “Doing as little as 4 minutes (or one “Tabata”) can increase your aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, VO2 max, resting metabolic rate, Tabata or Hiit training can help you burn more fat than a traditional 60-minute aerobic workout. The trick to getting all the benefits of tabata Hiit is the level of intensity. To do a Tabata all you have to do is a cardio activity and go as hard as you can for 20 seconds. Follow that with 10 seconds of rest and repeat eight more times.Tabata Hiit is great to get a quick workout in if you’re short on time, you need to switch up your routine, or you want improve endurance, speed, burn fat and improve your overall health/wellbeing. Incorporate this type of workout into your fitness routine and produce results”
