Situated in the heart of Shannon Town, Shannon Leisure Centre offers a wide range of sport, recreation and leisure activities for all the community.

Shannon Leisure Centre renovations update.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy and Fit New Year. We are delighted to inform you that most of the Legal and Technical difficulties associated with the renovation and expansion of The Leisure Centre have now been resolved.

Retiling of the pool and surround is almost complete. A certain amount of this work has to be done before the builders return to complete the new build and renovations.Planning permission has been received for the Tennis Courts, Skateboard Park and Floodlights. Work will commence on these facilities shortly.

We have not got an official re-opening date yet but are expecting to be operational ASAP.

Shannon Leisure Centre was established, and continues, to provide Community Facilities accessible for all it is a Company limited by guarantee and has Charitable Status.

AQUA LIFE facilities include a 25m swimming pool, baby pool, steam room & sauna.

ACTIVE LIFE facilities comprise two large sports halls, a comprehensive fitness suite, games room, dance studio, climbing wall and outdoor playground area.

We have a very wide range of activities such as camps, school tours (see other activities page for further details), aerobics, aqua aerobics, swimming lessons for all age groups, PE classes, corporate functions, teen activities and much more, all delivered by our highly qualified, experience and competent staff.

Shannon Leisure Centre has strict polices for the protection of children and young people. It is there to make sure that children are protected and kept safe from harm while they are with staff and volunteers in this organisation.  All staff are trained in association with the Mid Western Health Board in Keep Safe Child protection Certification.

It is also important that children of all ages be accompanied by an adult in the playground at all times.
